The 2008 edition of Journal Citation Reports has just been released today, June 19, 2009.  The 2008 edition includes:

  • 350+ titles with their first ever Journal Impact Factor
  • Five Year Impact Factors and Eigenfactor™ Metrics

You can browse by subject category or search by journal title.

Note: Nature, Science, PNAS, etc. are in the category of Multidisciplinary Sciences.

RSC acquires ChemSpider

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) announced today that it has acquired ChemSpider, heralding a breakthrough investment for the organisation and for the Chemistry Community.

ChemSpider is a free online service providing a structure centric community for chemists. Providing access to almost 21.5 million unique chemical entities sourced from over 200 different data sources and integration to a multitude of other online services, ChemSpider is the richest single source of structure-based chemistry information.          Click HERE

NCBI BioSystems - A biological pathways database is now integrated into NCBI’s Entrez system

The NCBI BioSystems, a new biological pathways database is now public. The BioSystems Database currently contains biological pathways from two source databases, KEGG and the EcoCyc subset of BioCyc. BioSystems can be searched directly or accessed via links from other NCBI databases such as Entrez Gene, Protein, PubChem Compound, and more.

Swine flu dashboard

The CABI Swine flu dashboard puts together swine flu information from CABI, Global Health database, Center for Disease Control, World Health Organisation, Wikipedia, and Google. It also has maps showing information about swine flu.

BOR Copyright Policy Presentation April 10

On Friday, April 10, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Exchange (Library South, room 106), Cynthia Hall from Georgia State University’s Office of Legal Affairs will discuss the new Board of Regents’ Copyright Policy. The primary focus of this presentation is the use of copyright materials by an instructor and fair use guidelines. The presentation will cover copyright issues, fair use determinations, and the TEACH Act.
