The Atlanta Journal Constitution has recently highlighted a social problem here in the Atlanta area: exploitation of the elderly and disabled.
This abuse can be psychological or physical, and can severely damage the quality and length of an individual’s final years. If you are interested in researching how to prevent or recognize elder abuse for a research paper, your career, or a loved one, the University Library can help. Search our catalog, GILFind, use our Discover Search, or use this brief list to get started.

video surveillance caught two men secretly abusing vulnerable autistic young man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybiFEVTzGBU
Video cameras are becoming an important tool in protecting elderly and special needs populations. More and more news stories are showing families catching predators and abusers of elderly and disabled on hidden or openly seen video cameras installed in environment where loved one is kept. The one that gets me is the case shown here where the caregivers KNEW the camera was in the autistic man’s room and STILL abused him. What kind of an arrogant psychopath thinks they can do this with a camera watching them?
I am fully agree with above post.
