Victims with Disabilities

OVC has released “Victims With Disabilities: Collaborative, Multidisciplinary First Response” This training guide and DVD provide techniques for first responders helping crime victims who have cognitive or communicative disabilities. DVD special accessibility features include open and closed captions, visual descriptions, enhanced audio, and audio navigation.

NIJ Journal, No. 262

Child Maltreatment, 2007

This report from HHS’ Administration of Children and Families indicates that an estimated 794,000 children were determined to be victims of maltreatment in 2007, down from 904,000 victims in 2006.
